The Arab Film Festival is presented in San Diego by KARAMA, a local non-profit that promotes understanding of the issues of the Arab and Islamic world and of the Palestinian issue in particular. In order to present the Arab Film Festival in San Diego, KARAMA partners with the Arab Film Festival (AFF) based in San Francisco. Since its inception in 1997, AFF has become the largest and most prestigious program in the U.S. showcasing films from and about the Arab world. AFF's mission is to screen films that provide realistic perspectives on Arab people, culture, art, history and politics.
The Arab Film Festival provides films and technical support while KARAMA provides local planning, logistics, publicity and fundraising.
