About Us:
In addition to the many Classical, Pops and Family concerts at the magnificent Hilbert Circle Theatre on Monument Circle, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is regularly heard in communities around Indiana, at the Marsh Symphony on the Prairie series each summer, and online through InstantEncore.com.
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra staff and musicians create innovative learning opportunities for more than 80,000 students through a variety of concerts, programs. workshops and resources. The pioneering and award-winning Arts Everyday program reaches more than 2,300 elementary students each year; thousands of children attend The Sallie Mae Fund Young People's Discovery Concerts annually; and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra creates family development opportunities through music instruction to our inner-city youth.
To introduce new audiences to symphonic music, the ISO offers the Stella Artois Happy Hour at the Symphony Series on select Thursday evenings, with a post-work social hour and an earlier concert start time. Beginning in 2010, these one-hour concerts will be created by ISO's new and dynamic ensemble-in-residence, Time for Three.
Since its founding in 1930, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has grown to become one of the nation's premiere orchestras.
