About Us

Traditionally thought of as a summer destination for music, opera, and visual arts, Santa Fe, New Mexico is also home to a world-class performing arts and culture scene throughout the winter months. The Art+Sol Festival is a landmark collaborative effort celebrating this rich artistic tradition in our beloved city.  

Over nine days, Festival audiences will experience symphony, song, chamber music, theater, chorus, and jazz against the beautiful backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Performances will take place in landmark venues and encourage visitors off the beaten path. Art + Sol Festival will also highlight Santa Fe’s museums, galleries, hotels, and restaurants – everything that makes this city a year-round destination.

This city-wide festival gives locals and visitors a chance to celebrate the vibrancy and culture of Santa Fe. By combining resources and marketing efforts, all partners will promote Santa Fe as a winter arts destination and encourage audiences to visit again and again.

The festival idea was conceived by Andréa Cassutt (Santa Fe Pro Musica), Amy Iwano (Performance Santa Fe), and Emma Scherer (The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus), each at the beginning of their tenures as executive director of their respective organizations. The three leaders sought a way to highlight and attract more audiences to their year-round programming as well as to usher in a new era of collaboration across Santa Fe’s cultural landscape.

Our Mission:

The Art + Sol Festival is a landmark winter event in Santa Fe, encouraging locals and visitors alike to enjoy world-class artistic experiences during an otherwise quiet season for the City Different. By combining the efforts of more than a dozen organizations, Art + Sol will promote arts, culture, and business, enticing visitors to Santa Fe and new audiences to arts organizations, restaurants, hotels, and businesses. The Art + Sol Festival is a citywide collaboration that reinforces Santa Fe’s reputation as a cultural tourist destination.
