From: Women and Family Life CenterDear Friends of the Women & Family Life Center,
I hope you all are enjoying the bliss that spring has brought to us. Springtime is a beautiful time of change where the day gets longer, the weather gets warmer, and new growth and rebirth surround us. It is a time when things seem positive and bright, and people seem happy and kind.
And something that we can all do as a community to help make sure everyone feels that way is simple small acts of kindness.
I ask that each of us do something daily to help someone else. It could be pushing in your neighbor's empty garbage can, holding the door a few seconds longer while someone walks in from a parking lot, or maybe letting that person who seems in a rush cut in front of you at the checkout.
If we as a community can come together and show goodwill and compassion for each other, the community we love will be even greater.
"Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are." Harold Kushner
And to all the mothers out there, by blood or love, we wish you are very Happy Mother's Day!
Nothing is Impossible,
Celebrating its 14th year, The Great Give is a 36-hr, online, community-wide giving event was created to raise visibility and resources for nonprofits serving Greater New Haven. We need your help to make our campaign a success, and we’ve included a few easy ways that you can support us.
Give what you can! For 36 hours you can support women and families on the CT Shoreline by donating to ensure they have access to no-cost services and programs. Your Great Give donation to the Center will help us to be responsive to the needs of the families in your community.
