From: PEG Center for Arts and ActivismNewburyport, MA -- In honor of Pride Month, The PEG Center and Newburyport Pride are hosting an art exhibition on display through June 29, 2024 at The PEG Center for Art & Activism. "QUEER HERE!" tells the stories of more than 25 LGTBQ+ artists through visual arts.
The public is invited to meet the artists at a free art reception on Friday, June 20 from 7-9 p.m.
There will also be a Drag Queen Story Hour, suitable for children ages 6 and older, featuring Madam Zapple on Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to noon. Please register at www.thepegcenter.org (http://www.thepegcenter.org/) . Suggested donation is $10.
"There is wide variety of amazing work – pop art, multimedia pieces, cross-stitch, photography, paintings, ceramics, stained glass, and a zine – that showcases the many talents and perspectives of our LGBTQ+ community," said Paula Estey, Executive Director of the PEG Center.
"This year is bigger and bolder! Do not miss this celebration of creativity," said Tarah MacGregor, Enrichment Coordinator for Newburyport Recreation & Youth Services and NAGLY North.
