Mission And History
Pat and Hank Haskell, residents of Hilton Head Island since 1988, founded South Carolina Repertory Company (SCRC) in 1992. Their mission was, and continues to be, to provide Hilton Head Island with quality theatre at a reasonable price in an intimate space. Since its inception, SCRC has produced over 75 shows. Though no stranger to the classics, SCRC prides itself in presenting material that is completely new to the Lowcountry, whether it be Pulitzer Prize winners straight from New York, or other contemporary work found in playwriting and musical theatre festivals across the United States and Canada. We certainly want to entertain our audience, but we also ask them to engage and think, something that is not often required in this age of digital diversion.
