Ulrich Museum
Drop-in event

We are thrilled to invite you to be part of multidisciplinary contemporary artist Abhidnya Ghuge’s monumental site-responsive art work which will be on view in the Polk/Wilson Gallery July 22 through December 6.

Please plan to join us at the Ulrich, Friday, July 11, any time between 1-4 p.m. working alongside Ghuge to help bring this breathtaking project to life. By participating, you will be contributing directly to a dynamic work of art and an experience that fosters community connection!

Ghuge’s work explores themes of community, belonging, identity, and transformation. Known for her intricate and expansive installations, Ghuge’s piece at the Ulrich will be made from over 14,000 woodblock-printed paper plates rolled and placed into a metal infrastructure.

As an artist who enjoys the shared experience of creation, Ghuge encourages others join her in the rolling and placing of her woodblock prints. This communal hands-on process reflects the spirit of Ghuge’s work: collaborative, meaningful, and rooted in shared experience.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
SEEKING ARTISTS TO CREATE INSTALLATIONS FOR THE FLUSHING GALLERIES

As a supporter of the Ulrich Museum, you have no doubt noticed that the restrooms in our lobby are now mini galleries as well!

The Flushing Galleries (as we call them) feature installations by individual artists and artist collectives who are selected from submissions. Now is the time for an open call to artists who are interested in creating installations for those spaces.

The Flushing Galleries are two spacious, single-occupancy bathrooms on the museum's first floor. The installations are a hit with visitors and artists alike. This is a great exercise in creativity for any artist who enjoys working outside the box. We are seeking artists who wish to have their work displayed at the Ulrich as an interactive or immersive art installation. Tell us about your concept. Fill out the the application form and submit it before the deadline: 5 p.m., Friday, July 11. We look forward to seeing your work!
