FRESNO, California — The Thunderbirds opened the Fresno State tournament with challenging back-to-back games against the University of California and CSU Bakersfield. Cal took the opener 8-0 but the Thunderbirds bounced back in the afternoon, beating the Roadrunners 1-0.
