Chair Barnes celebrates Senator Peters’ 35 years in public service

LANSING — WIth the announcement that Senator Peters will not seek another term in the Senate, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes issued the following statement:

From city council to the House to the Senate, Gary Peters has been a tireless champion for Michigan’s veterans, auto workers, and environment — and we owe him a debt of gratitude for all he’s accomplished. In an era of further partisanship and gridlock, Senator Peters has been a model of leadership for the entire country and has proven that Democrats are committed to getting things done for our great state. His years of service will be remembered forever in Michigan as he helped build a better, brighter future for us all.”
