“Whelp Henry, thanks for that… I guess. Is the $1.8 billion surplus announced tonight real or is it like Curtis Loftis’ fake $1.8 Billion.

With South Carolinians facing rising costs, underfunded schools, and struggling healthcare systems —at the hands of complete Republican control, the fact that $1.8 billion in taxpayer dollars remains unaccounted for is unacceptable.

Governor, as Senator Bright Matthews said tonight how can our economy thrive if you refuse to hold Treasurer Loftis accountable? Where’s the money? Where’s the transparency?

Instead of addressing this financial scandal, Governor McMaster is pushing another school voucher scheme, calling on the General Assembly to send him a new Education Scholarship Trust Fund bill.

Democrats will continue to fight for transparency, responsible governance, and investments in public education that serve all South Carolinians—not just a privileged few.”
