On Feb 25th, Rep. Rich McCormick voted to gut Medicaid, threatening health care for Georgia kids and families.

Rep. McCormick voted for the House Republican budget, which is projected to slash Medicaid by $1.01 billion for the 80,472 Georgians in the 7th Congressional District who rely upon Medicaid for life-saving health care and medicine.

In response to Rep. McCormick voting to gut health care for his constituents, DPG spokesperson Ellie Schwartz released the following statement:

In Georgia, sixty-seven percent of Medicaid recipients are children, half of all childbirths are covered by Medicaid, and three-quarters of seniors in nursing homes rely on Medicaid. Rep. McCormick‘s vote to gut Medicaid is a shameful vote against the health of his own constituents.”
