NOLA Chamber Fest is an annual chamber music festival and competition presented collaboratively by Lyrica Baroque, the New Orleans Friends of Music and the University of New Orleans. The festival aims to inspire and motivate musicians through the unique experience of tight-knit collaboration and artistic independence that only chamber music can offer. NCF offers aspiring musicians access, opportunity, and exposure to perform, compete, and learn alongside their peers.

Our five-day festival includes performances by world-renowned chamber ensembles, a national chamber music competition, masterclasses, and Creativity Day for local musicians.

March 20, 2025

7:30 pm: Competition Final Round

Come out and support the finalists of NCF 2025's competition as they perform live in New Orleans! It is sure to be an exciting, diverse and dynamic program of chamber music.

March 21, 2025

7:30 pm: Sybarite5 in Concert

Join us for this creative, high energy performance by Sybarite5, culminating in our 2025 chamber music competition awards ceremony and celebratory reception immediately following the performance.

Equal parts passion, grit, and musical ecstasy, Sybarite5 is an intoxicating cocktail of genre-breaking artistry expressed through the virtuosity and musicality of its members. Having performed in 44 states and 3 continents (and counting), Sybarite5 brings listeners on a musical journey of staggering breadth and depth with new works by living composers, as well as the group's favorite selections from Radiohead, Coltrane, Komitas, Piazzolla, and Pete Seeger… but as Strings Magazine says: “that doesn't even begin to describe the range of their eclecticism or the depth of their repertoire.

This performance is presented by the University of New Orleans School of the Arts.

9:00 am - 5:00 pm: Creativity Day

A special day of musical exploration including masterclass-style learning, chamber music performance, and collaborative education featuring student ensembles from our community partner institutions. Led by teaching artists Mia Rotondo and Robyn Quinnett.

This event is presented by Lyrica Baroque and the University of New Orleans School of the Arts.

March 23, 2025

10:00 am: Winners Masterclass

Join us for a masterclass featuring the finalists of our 2025 competition taught and led by Trio Virado!

1:00 pm: Junior Division Masterclass

A special masterclass for Junior Division participants. This class is only open to performing ensembles, their parents, and their teachers.

March 24, 2025

7:30 pm: Festival Finale with Trio Virado

Trio Virado is a unique collaboration of three of the most distinguished artists on flute, viola, and guitar. Flutist Amy Porter, violist Jaime Amador, and guitarist João Luiz are widely sought after for their musical performances on recordings and the concert stage. Joining together, they form a concert trio that radiates electricity and love of music.
