All Day : Newton Alumni Association's Class Window Displays

Location : Downtown Newton

All classes celebrating their reunions are invited to participate in this fun display of Red Pride! The theme is remember our past while looking forward to the future. Awards are given for most creative, most nostalgic, and best overall at Saturday's Brunch.

10 a.m : Newton Fest Movie: The Wizard of Oz - Free

Location : Capitol II Theatre (116 1st St N; Newton, IA 50208)

Follow the yellow brick road to Capitol II Theatre for a free showing of The Wizard of Oz during Newton Fest! Sponsored by the YMCA, Lauterbach Buick GMC, and MercyOne, this family-friendly event begins at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13. Doors open at 9:15 a.m. Tickets are free and available starting May 30 at the Newton YMCA or Capitol II Theatre. A $4 popcorn and pop special will be offered. Don’t miss this classic on the big screen!

1 p.m : Magic Show with Magician Jonathan May - Free

Location : Newton Public Library (100 N 3rd Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

Professional Magician, Jonathan May, is a full time entertainer specializing in magic and fun, for audiences of all ages and sizes! He'll be performing for free at the Newton Public Library in the Library Meeting Room. Come see what everyone is talking about!

4 p.m : Food Trucks

Location : Legacy Plaza (403 W 4th St N; Newton, IA 50208)?

Ninas Tacos, Big Acai, and Kulinary Khoas will be at Gezellig Brewing Co. at Legacy Plaza throughout the day.

4 p.m : Gezellig Brewing Company's "Six Years - So many beers" Anniversary

6 p.m. - Midnight : Newton Alumni Association's All Class Reunion

Cover charge of $5 per person with complimentary hors d'oeuvres supports the Newton chapter of Dollars for Scholars.?

7 p.m. - 9 p.m : Community Pool Party - Free

Location :  Maytag Pool (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

Enjoy a fun family night at Maytag Pool courtesy of the Advantage Credit Union! The pool will be open free of charge from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with concessions sales available.

6 p.m. - 8 p.m : Cardinal Painting Class - Free

Location : Centre for Arts & Artists (501 W 3rd Street N; Newton, IA 50208)

Create a one of a kind masterpiece with step-by-step instruction from local artist Sophie Kruger.

9 p.m. - 10:30 p.m : UV Glow Foam Party - Free

Location : Maytag Bowl (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

Kids and adults will have fun jumping through the foam, scooping it up, hiding underneath it and having a blast. The foam cannon stacks piles of UV glow foam while the Driving Cap Entertainment's dj plays live music and creates an experience like nothing we've had during Newton Fest in the past. 9:00 a.m : Newton Alumni Association's Jack Chadwick Golf Tournament

Location : Westwood Golf Course (3387 Hwy F48 W; Newton, IA 50208)

Please call Westwood Golf Course at (641) 792-3087 to reserve your spot. Teams of four are $300...$75 per person paid on the day of the event. Proceeds to benefit NHS Alumni Association scholarship fund.

9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m :  Morning Yoga at the Bowl - Free

Location : Maytag Park (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

Join us for a FREE yoga session led by Rachel Braafhart! The session will be held at Maytag Bowl. Open to all skill levels from curious beginners to advanced yogi. Bring your yoga mats.

9:30 a.m : Newton Alumni Brunch & Newton High School Hall of Fame Induction

Cost for the brunch is $15 and can be purchased online, at the All Class Reunion or at the Brunch. Reservations preferred

9 a.m : Newton YMCA 2025 Pickleball Tournament

$50 per team. Let's get together and celebrate everything that makes Newton GREAT!  The NewtonFest Pickleball Tournament is one of the largest tournaments in town every year.  We start with Pool Play to determine seeding for a double-elimination tournament.  Its a great way to spend the day, so grab a partner and join the fun!

See you at Gezellig Brewing Company for a fun run! They've mapped out a 5k-ish course that starts and ends at Gezellig Brewing Company and weaves throughout the Legacy Plaza neighborhood of Newton. Run, walk, jog - whatever goes! All ages, all levels are welcome.

10 a.m : Community Movie - The Wizard of Oz - Free

11 a.m. - 3 p.m : Newton Main Street and Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce present the Downtown Car Show

Location :  Downtown Newton

Join us on the downtown square for a car show! Park and registration takes place from 8 - 11 a.m. with judging taking place 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.; judging categories include: Best of Show, Best Engine, People's Choice, Longest Distance Traveled, Best Paint and Bob Provin Memorial. $15 pre-registration and $20 registration day of the show. First 100 registered receive a free dash plaque.

11 a.m : Gezellig Brewing Company Food Trucks

Borrachos, Sweet Henry's Ice Cream Sammies, Swoops 'N Scoops Ice Cream and Kasswagen will be setting up throughout the day.

12 p.m : Maytag Park Food Trucks

Location : Maytag Park (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

Some of Newtonian's favorite food trucks will be at Mayatg Park on Saturday of Newton Fest! Pho Wheels & Sushi and KIKI's will be setting up at Maytag Park during the concert, Safety Fest and the Family Fun Zone!

12 p.m : Newton Fest Concert featuring Damon Dotson + Band - Free

Location : Maytag Bowl (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

Damon Dotson is a singer/songwriter based out of Des Moines, IA and originally from Northwest Iowa. Dotson has released four original albums and played countless shows throughout the Midwest. He has opened for legendary performers like BB King, Willie Nelson, The Beach Boys, as well as modern artists like Matt Nathanson, Edwin McCain, and The Lone Bellow. Those attending the free concerts are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and are welcome to bring coolers to Maytag Park as they enjoy the free, live music.

12 - 2 p.m : Safety Fest - Free

Location : Maytag Park (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

The Newton Fire Department and Newton Police Department will be parked at the park with a fire truck, ambulance, police vehicle, and more! There will be fun activities and chances to meet police officers and firefighters.

12 p.m. - 4 p.m : Family Fun Zone featuring Inflatables & Laser Tag (FREE)

Location : Maytag Park (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)?

The Newton Fest Fun Zone at Maytag Park ?will feature inflatables and laser tag can be enjoyed by residents of all age for free.

12 p.m : Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Kids Crafts & Story Walk - Free

Location : Maytag Park  (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

Join us for a story-walk through the park followed by a hands on activity relating to the story. Our goal is to send you on your way with knowledge and tips on how things grow.

12 p.m : Jasper County Habitat for Humanity? Coloring Station

1 p.m : Maytag Pool Discounted Newton Fest Admission

Welcome to the Fierce Faith Music Fest 2025! Get ready for a night of amazing music and uplifting vibes. Let's come together to celebrate our shared faith and enjoy some incredible performances.
