Jolly's Gun Grab a Gift to Criminals, Declares War on the Second Amendment

Government and Politics

June 17, 2025

In a baffling move, David Jolly, a political chameleon who’s flipped from Republican to Independent and now Democrat, is doubling down on a far-left agenda to gut Second Amendment rights in his 2026 Florida gubernatorial bid. With Florida’s GOP holding a commanding 1.3 million voter registration edge, Jolly’s anti-gun crusade seems like a deliberate slap in the face to the state’s freedom-loving citizens.

Jolly’s plan? Cripple law-abiding gun owners with Big Government schemes like mandatory liability insurance, invasive background checks, and a slew of other heavy-handed regulations. Polls consistently show Florida Republicans fiercely defend the right to bear arms and reject any assault on the Second Amendment. Yet, Jolly is betting on left-wing talking points to win over a state that cherishes its constitutional freedoms.

“Under Republican leadership, violent crime in Florida has plummeted, according to state data,” said Chairman Evan Power. “We don’t need David Jolly’s nanny-state restrictions on law-abiding gun owners. Democrats like him worship at the altar of Big Brother, obsessed with meddling in our lives while staying silent on cracking down on actual criminals. His radical anti-gun rhetoric might play well on MSNBC, where he’s practically a fixture, but it won’t fly in Florida, where we defend our Second Amendment rights with unwavering resolve.”

Jolly’s leftward lurch on guns is a desperate ploy that’s bound to backfire in a state that stands firm for liberty.
