CHICAGO - It’s tax day in Illinois, which means that families are gathered around kitchen tables finalizing their taxes, while Illinois’ Democrat leaders sit back and collect the dough. Illinois has one of the highest tax rates in the U.S., and JB Pritzker and Brandon Johnson have made it clear that they want to raise that number even higher.

The proof is in the pudding:

• Last year, House Democrats approved a $750 MILLION tax hike package, including a hefty pay raise for themselves.
• Pritzker’s current budget proposal CUTS economic development, while attempting to mend deep-rooted problems with quick-cash fixes.
• Brandon Johnson’s $165 MILLION tax hike was just approved by the Chicago City Council as Johnson makes it clear that he’s coming for Chicago families’ paychecks.

Bottom Line: This has gone on long enough. Illinois cannot afford more bloated budgets and families cannot afford the tax hikes that wannabe-President Pritzker and Brandon Johnson are proposing.
