LANSING - In case you missed it, in stark contrast with Trump’s tariffs sending prices skyrocketing, Gongwer reported that Governor Gretchen Whitmer is proposing new measures to lower costs for Michiganders while protecting the existing programs that help middle-class families. Her budget proposals address issues from high-cost high school programs and utilities to launching a new team under the Attorney General to address price gouging.
As she has for over six years now, Governor Whitmer is working to help everyone trying to make ends meet here in Michigan. While Republicans rubber stamp Trump’s tariff war that will raise costs on Michigan families, Whitmer is working to lower the costs of energy and water so Michiganders can keep more of their money in their own pockets.
Yet again, Democrats are proving that they are the party of working people while Republicans are helping billionaires and corporations line their pockets. Thankfully, Democrats have leaders like Governor Whitmer who will constantly stand up for middle-class families and the kitchen table issues they care about.
