Florida Democrats have once again shown where their priorities lie - and it’s not with the hardworking people of our state.

This week, every Florida Democrat in Congress voted against the “Big Beautiful Bill”, President Trump’s landmark piece of legislation that would close loopholes that let illegal immigrants enroll in Medicaid. Meanwhile every Florida Republican in the House voted to ensure that illegals never receive a penny of Medicaid dollars.

“Time and time again, Florida Democrats choose criminal illegal migrants over American citizens,” said Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power. “From Darren Soto to Jared Moskowitz, they’ve all revealed themselves as radical leftists who are more interested in appeasing the open-borders crowd than protecting Floridians.”

This latest vote isn’t an isolated incident. Many of these same Democrats also opposed the Laken Riley Act earlier this year, a common-sense bill to end the catch-and-release of violent illegal immigrants.

“While President Trump and Florida Republicans are fighting to secure the border, uphold the rule of law, and protect Medicaid for American citizens, Democrats are doing everything they can to stand in the way,” said Chairman Power. “Their obstruction isn’t just reckless — it’s deliberate. Florida taxpayers are footing the bill while Florida Democrats pander to the open-borders fringe. They should be ashamed.”
