Contributions limits are set at $1,000 per donor, but Heintzeman accepted $2,000 from nine separate donors

ST. PAUL – On April 24th, the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party filed a campaign finance complaint after Keri Heintzeman – the Minnesota GOP candidate to replace Justin Eichorn (R-Grand Rapids) – blatantly violated campaign finance law by ignoring campaign contribution limits. State law bars candidates from accepting more than $1,000 per donor, but Heintzeman accepted double that amount from nine separate donors.

“It’s no surprise that someone who was at the Capitol on January 6 doesn’t respect Minnesota’s election laws,” said Minnesota DFL Chair Richard Carlbom. “Keri Heintzeman broke the law to advance her campaign and has no business serving in the Legislature.”

Heintzeman’s excess contributions are available here and copies of the DFL campaign finance complaint and Heintzeman’s campaign finance report are attached to this release.
