Cozen O’Connor has promoted attorneys Hayley Ryan and Christina Sanfelippo from associates to members in the firm’s Chicago office.   

 

Hayley Ryan concentrates her practice on complex commercial litigation and data privacy litigation, representing companies in litigation matters in state and federal courts. She represents Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) defendants in multiple class actions, including drafting answers and affirmative defenses to BIPA claims, drafting motions to dismiss raising novel issues due to rapidly changing BIPA case law, and defending clients using purported voice recognition and facial recognition technology. She also defends clients against class actions brought under the Video Privacy Protection Act and the Drivers’ Privacy Protection Act.

 

Ryan earned her B.A. from DePauw University (2013) and her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law (2016). She also completed the Regulatory and Antitrust Law certificate program at Cornell University and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional - US (CIPP/US).

 

Christina Sanfelippo focuses her practice on financial restructuring and bankruptcy law. She represents debtors, trustees, and creditors in a range of Chapter 7 proceedings, including preference and fraudulent transfer actions and complex bankruptcy litigation, as well as assisting debtors and official committees of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 proceedings. Sanfelippo also handles commercial disputes, including contract claims and business torts.

 

Sanfelippo serves as Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors for the Chicago Network of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), Director of Communications on IWIRC’s international Board of Directors, and co-chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI)’s Young and New Members Committee.  In 2024, she was named to the ABI's "40 Under 40" Emerging Leaders in Insolvency Practice list.

 

Sanfelippo earned her B.S. from the University of Minnesota (2012) and her J.D. from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law (2015).
