Since our founding by Clara Barton on May 21, 1881, the American Red Cross has remained committed to one mission: to help people in need.
Over the past 140 years, our organization has continued to evolve, and the challenges we’ve faced have been varied and many. Through both world wars and today, Red Crossers just like you have been there to offer lifesaving relief and compassion to those who need it most.
As we approach our 144th anniversary, we want to commemorate this moment by inviting you on a journey through the history of the American Red Cross.
Will you take a moment to complete our click-through journey and explore some of the moments in history that defined the Red Cross and created the organization that assists over 25,000 people every day?
