Tempe Community Salutes is a special recognition ceremony honoring the young men and women from our community who have chosen to serve in the military. This inspiring event brings together future service members, their families, city officials, and military representatives to celebrate their commitment to national service. The ceremony features remarks from elected officials, musical performances, and a heartfelt moment where each recruit is welcomed on stage to receive a commemorative challenge coin engraved with the message, “The First to Say Thank You.” In addition, each future service member is presented with a stole representing their chosen branch of the military, which they can proudly wear at their high school graduation.
