Rucker and Teuber are a cello and saxophone duo that has been performing together for over two decades. Teuber, a highly sought-after saxophonist, woodwind doubler, composer, arranger, and keyboardist based in Seattle, began collaborating with Rucker in 2001. Their partnership resulted in the release of the critically acclaimed CD "Oil," which features nine improvised pieces.
Throughout their careers, both musicians have worked with renowned jazz artists such as Bill Frisell, Julian Priester, Michael White, and Wayne Horvitz. They have also collaborated with Stone Gossard from Pearl Jam.
Teuber was inducted into the Earshot Jazz Hall of Fame, and Rucker’s Quintet, which includes Teuber, won the award for Best Outside Jazz Group at the Earshot Jazz Awards.
Every concert the duo presents is improvised and spontaneously produced. They recently played two sold out shows at the Salzburg Jazz Festival! Come see this exciting musical duo making their Icicle Creek Center for the Arts debut!
