McKinney Repertory Theatre (MRT) is excited to present its compelling production of "12 Angry Jurors," adapted by Sherman L. Sergel. The show will bring the heat of the deliberation room to the stage this spring. It will run over three weekends: February 28 - March 1, March 7-8, and March 14-15, 2025, captivating audiences at the McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in historic downtown McKinney. This courtroom drama, adapted from Reginald Rose's teleplay "12 Angry Men," unfolds in a tense jury room as 12 jurors grapple with the weighty responsibility of determining a young defendant's fate. The play delves into themes of justice, prejudice, and human fallibility, making it as thought-provoking as it is riveting.

Thanks to a generous grant from H-E-B, students can see the show for free. This initiative reflects MRT's commitment to fostering a love for the arts among young audiences and providing educational experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Watching "12 Angry Jurors" offers students a chance to explore critical thinking, understand the complexities of the judicial system, and engage with timeless themes of justice and morality. The production serves as an excellent tool for sparking meaningful conversations about ethics, civic responsibility, and the power of diverse perspectives.

Under the direction of Kent Phillips, the production will feature a talented ensemble cast of local actors who volunteer their time to bring this iconic story to life. Each performance offers a fresh perspective on the individual biases, personal conflicts, and moral dilemmas that arise when 12 strangers are tasked with reaching a unanimous decision.
