8:00am – 9:00am: Free Frisco, Colorado Kids’ Fishing Derby
The fishing derby will take place at Meadow Creek Park (828 Meadow Drive, Frisco, CO) from 8:00am – 9:00am. The Town of Frisco partners with Colorado Parks and Wildlife to bring this July 4th fishing derby tradition to kids and their families each year in Frisco. The pond is stocked with fish. Free online registration is available by clicking on the button below.
Fishing Derby Details and Tips
- This is for youth up to 14 years of age.
- Kids should bring their own fishing poles. The Frisco Bay Marina does rent fishing poles if you do not have your own and is about a three minute drive from Meadow Creek Park. The Marina is open from 8:00am – 7:00pm seven days a week during this time of year so you would need to rent and pick up the day before the event.
- Bait is not recommended.
- Catch and release is strongly encouraged. Please de-barb your hooks, as it will make releasing fish much easier and better for them.
- The top five kids overall who catch the largest fish will receive a prize and have their picture taken for submission to the Summit Daily. Only one prize per child will be awarded for the top five; there will be no age category winners, just overall.
- There will be a few adult volunteers who are passionate and knowledgeable about fishing at the event to help as needed and to measure fish.
- Please keep your pets on leash or leave them at home. Rufus wouldn’t like getting a hook in his paw, and splashing dogs make it tough to catch the biggest fish!

8:00am – 11:00am: Team Summit Pancake Breakfast
The traditional Team Summit Pancake Breakfast will take place right off of Main Street in front of the Old Community Center Building at 110 3rd Avenue. Proceeds from the Pancake Breakfast benefit Team Summit – $10 for adults and $5 for kids 8 and under.
1:00pm: Parade on Main Street
The 4th of July parade will take place on Frisco Main Street from Madison Avenue to Sixth Avenue. Don’t just watch the parade, be a part of the parade with a decorated float, vintage vehicle, or non-motorized parade entry.
Decorated Floats
Back this year – we will have a limited amount of entries available for traditional decorated cars or trailers (no more than 4 vehicles per entry).
Vintage Vehicles
We also welcome those who have vintage vehicles to join the fun and show off your car in this year’s parade (cars must be prior to 1985, no more than 4 cars per entry).
Non-Motorized
Everyone and everything is welcome in our non-motorized category, as long as it doesn’t have a motor! Including decorated bikes, dressed up dogs, people walking, horses, people on scooters and skateboards, people with cats… as long as it doesn’t have a motor… you get the idea.
Parade Information
- Handing out candy is encouraged! Confetti or any other materials that are not consumable are not allowed, as cleaning them up is virtually impossible in our beautiful town.
- Parade route – After checking in at the tent at Main Street and Madison Avenue, all participants will be lined up to begin making their way east down Main Street towards 6th Avenue. At the intersection of Main Street and 6th Avenue, participants will be turning right off Main Street onto a closed block of 6th Avenue to safely exit the parade route.
