Enjoy non-stop tabletop programs and crafts from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. during Bird Fest at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area Saturday, April 26. This fun, family outing is “For the Birds”. Come and go as you please. All donations help support the conservation organizations represented. Bring your own lunch or enjoy a hot dog or hamburger, chips, and a drink provided by the Friends of Hobbs.

8 - 9 a.m. BIRDING WALK AT SINKING STREAM AND VAN WINKLE TRAILS

Meet at the Sinking Stream Trailhead to explore both of these easy 0.5 mi. trails which typically attract many different birds. This beginner- friendly walk is led by Taylor Long, field trip leader for the NWA Audubon Chapter. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair from us.

9 – 10:45 a.m. BIRDS AND BREAKFAST

See live songbirds that were captured and banded in the park by ornithologists, who then release them. Breakfast snacks, juice, and coffee will be provided. Come and go as you please. Sponsored by the Bluebird Shed, 3-D Pet Products, Ozark Bird Conservancy, and Friends of Hobbs.

10 - 11 a.m. BIRDING WALK AT OZARK PLATEAU TRAIL

Meet at the pavilion near the visitor center to explore this easy, 0.5 mi. trail and look for birds. This beginner-friendly walk is led by Taylor Long, field trip leader for the NWA Audubon Chapter. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pairfrom us.

11 – 11:45 a.m. DISCOVER MIGRATORY BIRDS

The peak of bird migration for our area is right around the corner. Join Mitchell Pruitt from the Ozark Bird Conservancy for a program in the Discovery Room to explore this incredible phenomenon and migratory birds that visit our area.

12 – 1 p.m. LIVE RAPTOR PROGRAM

Join Lynn Sciumbato from Morning Star Wildlife Rehabilitation for an up-close view of some magnificent birds of prey, or raptors.
