The Town of Frisco is proud to once again bring together great music for great causes at the free outdoor Concert in the Park Series. Held each Thursday from 5:30pm - 7:30pm, this concert series at the Frisco Historic Park gazebo & lawn at 120 Main Street will run from June 19 – August 28. Well behaved, leashed canines are welcome, and outside alcohol is a no no, as refreshment sales benefit a different local non-profit each week.

Musical Act: The Big Onions

The Big Onions are a culmination of the three original band members who bring diverse backgrounds and talents; a funk/blues guitarist, a jazz influenced drummer from Nebraska and a rock bassist from Colorado. The group formed under the auspices of open mic night at Frisco’s Back Country Brewery in 2000/2001. Forming a power blues/funk trio, the Onions cruised through numerous local gigs and clubs in Summit County for a number of years in the infancy of the now thriving local music scene. The band added a fourth Onion and keyboardist after a combined gig in Estes Park and remained a four-piece blues/funk band ever since. Stretching the boundaries of the 70’s music genre, the band features the early sounds of Hendrix, The Stones, Santana and Buffalo Springfield. Inclusive of later 70’s music, the Big Onions perform songs from Led Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, Little Feat, and ZZ Tops.
