As a parent, losing a child is unfathomable and every day we mourn our baby and question how this could happen to her. To help our grieving process and keep Christina’s spirit alive, we created a non-profit organization called Operation Sweet Tooth. Our mission is to honor Christina by supporting the youth of our community. Our goal is to raise funds, toys, personal items, and school supplies for the children in our community who are sick, impoverished, displaced, homeless, or just need their spirits lifted. It’s of great importance that we turn our pain into purpose, and support children in their times of need, reminding them there are strangers out there who do care.
Since our organization was established, we have been blessed to have a profound impact locally in our community. We have donated more than 5,000 toys supporting Levine’s Children Hospital, Camino Church, St. Mark Church, the Town of Huntersville, Ada Jenkins Center, Neighborhood Care Center and many more. We have provided over 12,000 school supplies, snacks and gift cards and have supported Classroom Central, Communities In Schools, Blythe Elementary, Grand Oak Elementary, J.V. Washam Elementary and Caterpillar Ministries.
We have donated 26 Automatic External Defibrillators (AED’s) to the Town of Huntersville, the Town of Cornelius, Hinds Feet Farm, Charlotte Lab Schools, Hope House, Angels and Sparrows, Ada Jenkins Center, Journey Church and many more. One of our donations saved a life in North Mecklenburg Park in Huntersville on April 24, 2019!
Our focus is to expand our efforts locally and to partner with our local system and school counselors to provide items of need for our children in addition to continuing to support our broader community by continuing to provide life - saving medical devices.
We are small but we like to think that we are mighty in the positive impact we have in our community. We are truly honored and blessed to have all this support and that only fuels our passion to make this world a better place and make sure our children of today and tomorrow are cared for.
We know there are many race options each weekend as we head into the Spring. We hope you consider participating in our race, to honor a little girl who was full of life until her last breath, as well as support Operation Sweet Tooth to assist children in our community who are less fortunate.
