Bastrop's Annual Big Bang! Celebration

Pets, parades, music, games, fireworks! It's all right here in Bastrop, TX, this Independence Day. Join us in putting the BANG in Bastrop's Annual Big Bang Celebration on June 28, 2025. Bring the whole family downtown for a day of community spirit and star-spangled excitement leading up to the evening fireworks at Fisherman’s Park! This event is FREE and open to the public. Make a weekend out of it; we have plenty of places to kick your feet up.

Pet & Pal Parade: Show Off Your Patriotic Pride!

Time: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM (Registration & judging from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM; parade begins at 9:00 AM with awards immediately after)
Location: County Courthouse
Details: This beloved tradition continues! Dress up your pets (any and all are welcome – let your imagination soar!) and join the festive procession.

Freedom on Wheels: Roll Through Downtown!

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: South Main Street (from Chestnut to Pine)
Details: South Main transforms into a pop-up play street after the parade! Grab your bikes, scooters, strollers, skates, or any non-motorized wheels and enjoy a safe, car-free roll.

Toads & Treasures: A Stars & Stripes Scavenger Hunt!

Time: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Location: Participating Downtown Retail Businesses
Details: The downtown scavenger hunt returns with a patriotic twist! Seek out hidden red, white, and blue toads in local shops and gather treasures along your adventure.

North Main Games: Good Old-Fashioned Fun!

Time: 5:00 PM—7:00 PM
Location: North Main Street (from Chestnut to Spring)
Details: Head to North Main for a lively, family-friendly take on classic field day games. Expect cornhole, sack hops, water balloon tosses, and plenty of laughter – no beer required, just pure fun!

Patriotic Firework Display: Epic Evening of Patriotic Proportions

Time: 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Location: Fisherman’s Park, along the stunning Colorado River
