For more than a half a century local Shriners have been sponsoring the Shrine Circus in the Dickinson area as a public service. In the early days it was held at the local ball park. Then, for many years, it was held at Whitney Stadium on the campus of Dickinson State University. Since shortly after it was built in the 1990s, the Shrine Circus has been held in what is now the West River Ice Center.
