Andrew Armstrong is an outstanding pianist who has concertized all over the country and the globe to critical acclaim.So who are the Friends? Well, Andy has met and performed with a lot of musicians along the way and about 5 years ago, he launched several chamber music series featuring those friends. The demand for Andy & Friends has grown and today as Artistic Director, he curates chamber music concerts up and down the East Coast from New Canaan, Connecticut to Beaufort, South Carolina, featuring the finest performers from around the world. We are fortunate that Andy & Friends are including Kiawah on their schedule this season.Joining Andy for our concert next Wednesday will be his fellow pianist Orion Weiss to play Gabriel Faure’s Dolly Suite, a playful piece for piano four hands. You can also look forward to a performance of a monumental and technically brilliant work of J.S. Bach's. Guitar virtuoso Mak Grgić will join the pianists for a program including music by composers who may be new to you. We hope you’ll join us for an enriching and entertaining evening.Experience an unforgettable evening of music with Americans in Paris, a thrilling chamber trio performance brought to us by fan-favorite pianist, Andy Armstrong; featuring guitarist Mak Grgić and fellow pianist, Orion Weiss. This carefully curated program spans centuries and genres, featuring Bach’s Chaconne from the Partita in D minor, BWV 1004, a monumental work known for its emotional intensity and technical brilliance. As well as Fauré’s Dolly Suite, a whimsical and richly textured piece for piano four-hands that is sure to impress and enliven the audience. Contemporary guitar master Miroslav Tadić’s Laments, Dances, & Lullabies brings a vibrant, modern flair with its evocative solos, followed by Lyapunov’s Transcendental Etude, Op. 11, No. 10, ‘Legshinka,’ a virtuosic display of pianistic fire. With performances hailed for their "depth and charisma," Mak Grgić, Orion Weiss, and Andrew Armstrong combine artistry and passion in this not-to-be-missed concert.
