I've always known that I wanted to go into medicine at some point. I come from a family that my parents didn't go to college, and so I'm first generation to achieve that accomplishment. I've always wanted to be able to achieve something that my parents could be proud of. Being a doctor was one of those things that I wanted to do. Family medicine is great because you can do a little bit of everything. I enjoy taking care of families and creating relationships with my patients. I really enjoy being able to take care of the full scope of life. Taking care of children, seeing them grow older, taking care of them as young adults and then further and further on. So, I do enjoy that full scope. I want them to know that I will focus on making sure a patient feels seen and feels heard. The type of care they receive from me should be a conversation between the two of us. It shouldn't just be me making decisions for them without their input.
