To satisfy the informational, intellectual, and cultural needs of the Wellesley community, and to enhance and enrich all patrons' life-long reading, learning, and educational experiences.
The Library will achieve its mission by fulfilling the following primary roles:
Providing timely, accurate, and comprehensive reference services and materials
Providing a comprehensive collection of popular materials, both fiction and non-fiction, in a variety of print and non-print formats
Providing children's programs, materials, and services designed to encourage a life-long interest in reading and learning, and to introduce children to the resources of the library
Providing support to the community's educational institutions and to respond to the informational requests of individual students
Providing a gathering place through available meeting space and cultural programs, to support collaborative inquiry and to engender a sense of "community" among townspeople
Providing facilities and technology that the library will use to offer programs and services and in which citizens may pursue their individual and group interests.
