The 2016 HRYP Slam Festival is guaranteed to be more powerful than ever before. The Olympic style poetry slam competition showcasing the creative genius of young artists, poets, and emerging world changers from around Hampton Roads ages 13-19. Young writers, emcees, spoken word artists and performers from the Hampton Roads area take the stage to tell their stories.  This festival helps youth to find, develop, apply and publicly present their voices as agents of social change.  Those competing at the grand slam have qualified through a series of slams held throughout Hampton Roads.  Grand Slam poets have the opportunity to represent Hampton Roads at various Youth Poetry Slam’s throughout the country!  Pre-register at TWPTheMovement.org
