Westlake Recreation Department
Mission
The mission of the Westlake Recreation Department is to provide leisure programs, facilities and services that will benefit the present and future needs of the Westlake Community.
Westlake Recreation Center:
The Westlake Recreation Center opened its' doors in November 1998 and provides a variety of amenities and activities to all Westlake Residents or employees of Westlake businesses. In 2005, the center underwent an expansion and addition project. The center is now home to a 13,500 sq. ft. fitness area, 2 high school sized regulation basketball courts, indoor track, new Spinning® Studio, 2 multi-purpose aerobics rooms, and an aquatics center that houses 5 pools including a lap pool, diving well, child's play pool with a water shooting frog and palm tree showers, lazy river and slides. In addition, the recreation center has 2 large community rooms for parties or seminars, a conference room which holds up to 15 people for small meetings and a new classroom that holds up to 30 people. You will also find an Arts & Crafts room, the newly re-located Tot Room used for babysitting services at the center and a larger front desk to accommodate more services. The Recreation Center is situated on 86 acres of land consisting of the recreation complex, outdoor track, 2 baseball/ softball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, gazebo, playground, picnic area, a fishing pond and lots of open spaces.
