Wenatchee Rotary Club No. 227

History:

The history of the Wenatchee Rotary Club is an unfolding story of initiative, courage, hard work, camaraderie, cooperation and many successes. Looking back over the past, Wenatchee Rotary can feel very proud of its accomplishments. From an original group of 25 business and professional men who received the charter, we constantly have grown in numbers and in professions represented. Seven of the original charter members served a term as President of the Club.

The story of the Wenatchee Rotary Club from its founding on January 11, 1921, to the Golden Anniversary of Rotary International on February 28, 1955 was compiled with the cooperation of all past Presidents and many other members of the Wenatchee Rotary Club. A Golden Anniversary Project with Fred M. Crollard as Chairman and O.B. Shay and Ralph V. Wood as Editors.

The 1966 Revisions covering the additional 11 years from 1955-56 through 1965-66 were accomplished by Fred M. Crollard as Chairman and R.F. Jones as Editor.

The 1992 revision includes the 26 years from 1965-66 through 1991-92 through the efforts of Walt Wittgow, Chairman and the following members of the History committee: Carl Petit, Bill Bumps, Don Garvik and John McDarment.
