The Thurmont Rangers are a Cowboy Action Shooing Club sponsored by the Thurmont Conservation and Sporstman's Club. We are located at 11617 Hunt Club Road, in Thurmont Maryland, 21788.

We shoot regular monthly matches on the 1st Sunday of the month from March through November.  We shoot under the guidelines and are sanctioned by the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS). We are the host of the SASS Eastern Divisional Championship, "The Mason Dixon Stampede." This multi day event is held in October (SASS membership is required) You do not have to be a member of the club or SASS in order to shoot a monthly match.  To be a member of the Thurmont Rangers, you must also be a SASS member.

Registration for our monthly matches starts at 8:00 AM and registration closes at 9:15 AM.  The mandatory safety talk is held on the range at 9:45 AM.  Shooting starts at 10:00 AM.  Breakfast is ready around 7:45 AM and lunch can be purchased during the mid match break.  All matches are held rain or shine.  We don't like shooting in the rain but we also don't like not shooting.  Cost for the monthly matches is $10.  The average ammunition requirements would be 120 rifle and pistol rounds (combined) and at least one box of shotgun shells.

We have several charity matches throughout the shooting season. Two of our favorites are Cop & Cowboys and our annual Ronald Mc Donald shoot. All monies collected are donated to charity.
