About Us:
Since 1989, The James House (TJH), a non-governmental, non-profit organization, has been committed to providing comprehensive, cost-free services for people who have been affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking. We are governed by a board of directors who believe in our mission.
By providing mission driven, client centered, culturally relevant services through case management plans, we help clients create outcomes that address life satisfaction, hope and optimism, empowerment and knowledge about issues associated with interpersonal violence and the services available to address these issues. Our ultimate goal is to assure client self-sufficiency and sustainable change through coaching and empowering strategies.
Our services include a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, court and hospital accompaniment, safety planning, private counseling, support groups, case management, a resource library, transitional services, food vouchers, emergency pet placement, and referrals to community resources. All of our services are free and confidential.
