The non-profit organization, Toastmasters, will be forming a club in Fairmont, WV.  This Toastmasters Club will be chartered by Toastmasters International, Region 7, District 13, Area 3 Toastmasters.  This is where you can learn to improve your communication, Leadership, Mentoring, and Listening Skills.  Currently there are 5 clubs located in WV.  Area 3 Toastmasters is looking to expand the knowledge of Toastmasters throughout the state.  We will need 20 new members in order to charter this club through Toastmasters International.

The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

The Friendly City Toastmasters will be meeting on October 28, 2010 to give a demonstration meeting at the Marion County Chamber of Commerce at 6:30 pm.  If you would like to find a club near you or start a community or corporate club, please visit the Toastmasters International website.  If you would like more information regarding the upcoming Friendly City Toastmasters Meeting, please call the Area 3 governor, Mark Wheeler.  Eventually donations will be accepted when the club is chartered to help keep it going.
