The Folk-Groovin' Café presents original, acoustic music events at
several Long Island venues, primarily at St. Lawrence of Canterbury
Church in Dix Hills and at Huntington's Conklin Barn. The shows are
hosted by veteran singer/songwriter, Jim Frazzitta, and feature Special
Musical Guests, as well as an Open Mic (all performers are welcome).
Born out of the band,
Nylon & Steel's "Folk-Groovin' G
atherings"
of the 90's, the shows have grown to present a notable list of local
and regional folk and acoustic acts. In addition to the wonderful
musical offerings, The Café is known for the warm and friendly
audiences that attend. The community vibe is a hallmark of The Café
that distinguishes it on the Long Island music scene.
The
admission for the shows (usually $10) includes refreshments (snacks,
coffee, tea, soda, etc.) and a night full of passionate, acoustic music.
And don't be surprised if you meet some great new friends. Come on down
and "Add A Little Groove To Your Coffee!"
