The Chesterton Art Center is dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of the Northwest Indiana area by exhibiting the works of emerging and established regional artists.
We emphasize the richness and diversity of art and endeavor to provide a continuous forum for art education in the community.
About Us
The mission statement of the Association of Artists and Craftsmen of Porter County is to empower artists with heightened levels of encouragement and opportunity, strengthen our organization so that all members may realize their full potential for excellence, stimulate and expand audiences for the arts in Northwest Indiana, and promote public advocacy for the arts. The mission statement is implemented through education, exhibition, and collection.
The AACPC operates the Chesterton Art Center and has sponsored the annual Chesterton Art Fair for over 45 years. The organization was incorporated on November 2, 1960. The Chesterton Art Center is a two-story 4,000 square foot exhibition area with an additional 1,800 square foot educational center attached to the gallery space. The Chesterton Art Center is a not-for-profit 501-C3.
Over 200 classes, workshops and demonstrations taught by 27 artists are held yearly at the facility. The exhibition schedule reflects the needs of the region by hosting over 13 exhibitions yearly. Other regional arts organizations also hold exhibitions and classes are the facility.
