The Artists Group was started as a result of The Art of Paleontology, a two day event to raise money for The Hicksville Gregory Museum, which featured artists, craftspeople and musicians joining together with the people of the community in an interactive celebration of all the arts. As we watched children and adults alike stare in amazement as 15 artists created beauty in front of their eyes, we realized that if you can stimulate these people then all of the above mentioned institutions would benefit. Our founders, Debra Ann Kasimakis and Robert Goida, have over 30 years of experience in the world of art and performance. Debra Ann Kasimakis has been a professional artist with sales of over 3000 original artworks, has donated pieces to many charitable events and is the owner of Pandagraphics Design Studios located in Hicksville. Her recent work has taken on a more public leaning having done three full size horses for Nassau Counties Horse of a Different Color, an apple for The Big AppleFest in New York City and a Duck for Nassau's newest project. Robert Goida has owned and operated Goldenreel Recording Studio, consulted on many audio installations, curated Art in Architecture 2005 and Artistic Autumn 2005 for the Nassau Conservancy and has been Production Manager at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts for the past 13 years. His experience in presenting major events is unprecedented on Long Island today. Together these two dynamic and creative personalities have come together in support of this major undertaking. Wouldn't it be inspiring to see some wonderful artwork, or hear some great music or poetry from our very own artistic people. Expression of the soul is ageless & timeless. Everyone's quality of life can be enhanced by Cultural Expression. As long as respect for eachother is observed, imagination will flourish! We want to unite the Creative Community right here, on Long Island. There are power in numbers. If we stick together we can change the face of Creativity NOW!
