Okay, folks, lets go back in time over 100 years when the west was wild and a Nevadan's word was his bond. Mining and ranching was our major industry and the stagecoach was our only form of mass transportation. The only mustang you could get around on was the four legged kind. It seemed simpler then. Would you like to go back to those days, even for just a little while? If the answer is yes, the Silver State Shootists (SSS) is just the ticket!

The Silver State Shootists is a cowboy action shooting (CAS) club started in September of 1994 and is associated with the Cowboy Action Shooting Society (CASS). Cowboy action shooting (CAS) is the fastest growing firearms sport in three continents. Our club (the Silver State Shootists) is located in Carson City, Nevada near the historic Virginia City Comstock mining area.

It is the intention of the SSS to always conduct itself on the principles of honesty and fair play. We will be surpassed by no other in our friendliness, good behavior, honesty, integrity and the general high character of our members.

For one Sunday each month, our members (and guests) dress in period clothing and take part in shooting firearms (revolvers, rifles & shotguns) used in the "Old West". Twice a year, we also take part in a long range (up to 500 yards) shoot, also using period rifles with iron sights. Wow, dressing up in cowboy cloths and shooting cowboy guns; it's hard to have a better time than that!
