About Us:
Stephanie is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and has been in the Auburn/Opelika area since 2002. She is an Auburn University graduate with a degree in Animal Sciences.
Stephanie was always a horse crazy child, riding anytime the opportunity presented itself. At the age of 13 Stephanie started taking regular riding lessons and began competing American Saddlebred Horses. After 4 years in the Saddleseat circuit, she had accumulated numerous wins and titles including 2 trips to the National Championships and 2 Reserve National Champion titles as well as 2 years of undefeated competition.
Stephanie then turned her focus towards Sport Horses, where she found her passion. Three Day Eventing, consisting of dressage, cross country, and show jumping, is Stephanie’s discipline of choice. In 2005 she lived in Lexington, KY and was a working student for Advanced event rider Megan Moore. Upon returning to Alabama, Stephanie then worked for a year as the Asst. Barn Manager for H&G Horse Quarters in Auburn. While at H&G she taught as many as 25 lessons a week and established a very successful string of confident riders. She was also responsible for the schedule and care of the horses in the barn.
In the Spring of 2007, a unique and spectacular opportunity was offered to Stephanie as the head groom for 4* Canadian rider Jessica Hampf. Stephanie took on the daily care of Jessica’s barn and traveled around the US with her string of eventers. In the Fall of 2009 Stephanie spent a month in England with Jessica’s 4* horse, High Society III. She cared for “Trevor” through Canadian Team training sessions and ultimately the Blenheim Palace CCI competition. She learned the elite level of horse care she practices today under the eye of Jessica and her mentors including Mike Winter, David O’Connor, Jan Byyny, Kyle Carter, and some of the top grooms in the world today. Stephanie has also groomed for other top level riders including Doug Payne, Colin Davidson, Blair King, and Mike Winter at some of the most elite events in the world including Rolex Kentucky CCI, Jersey Fresh CCI, Fair Hill International CCI, Richland Park CIC, and many more.
While working for Jessica, Stephanie maintained her own string of students and has enjoyed teaching and training in her own program. She started Silver Lining Equestrian Center in the Fall of 2008 at a small facility with just a few acres of pasture and two stalls that she built herself and has been so blessed to watch SLEC grow into what it is today. The business quickly outgrew the original facility and moved to Hunter Price’s facility in June of 2009. We were blessed in December of 2010 to be able to move into our fabulous new facility. Since we began, we have seen so many riders acheive their goals and learn to enjoy riding like never before!Stephanie is so excited to be bringing her experience and enthusiasm to you at Silver Lining Equestrian Center!
