Mission:
The Mission of the Roy City Library is to compile and maintain a library collection of materials that meet the educational, informational and recreational needs of the community. The Library will continue to seek and support any efforts that may enhance the library services.
Commitment to the Community:
The Roy City Library will offer materials and services guided by the community and society's needs. The Library will make responsible decisions in selecting resources and maintaining a current collection.
Equitable barrier-free access, quality services, responsiveness to people, community involvement.
We nourish young minds.
We promote children's programs and services.
We support families.
We support and work with other organizations for the betterment of our community and its services.
Preserving the Past:
We provide a local historical collection of family, city and local area histories and pictures.
We provide assistance in searching for family roots.
We actively request and record stories and information from the elders of the Roy community.
Focusing on the Future:
We will continue our tradition of excellence by meeting the increased demand for services with new and expanded computer resources, additional open hours when possible and a technology plan that ensures we will keep pace with the growing needs of our community.
The computerization of library services including bar code scanning of all materials and patron records, will better enable the Library to meet the community's needs in a faster manner.
The public-access computers with high speed cable Internet access give the community another door to informational sources.
With the changes in the world around us and the increase in the amount of knowledge we must have to succeed in today's world, reading and libraries are more important than ever. Roy City Library is committed to meeting the needs of our patrons, now and in the future, by continuing to provide the highest quality of services we can, with equal access to everyone.
