Richardson Rescue was started in 2003 by Janet Richardson. Janet relocated from New York where she managed a company with over 200 employees for 15 years. She began volunteer work for various animal agencies after arriving in the York County area. With high expectations for animal rights, spay/neuter and education, Janet began building what has now become one of the largest and finest onsite rescues in the area.
Richardson Rescue now offers adoptions, rescue, a low cost spay/neuter program, education and is active with The Committee for Responsible Pet Ownership. The Committee's goal is to improve animal rights laws, unchain pets, code enforcement and improve Animal Control procedures while promoting enforcement.
Donated items are always needed including funds to pay for veterinary bills, expenses and supplies. Some of the items needed and always greatly appreciated are: Treats, rawhides, cleaners, garbage bags, laundry soap, kitten food, cat litter, dog houses, kennels, newspapers and bleach.
Richardson Rescue plans frequent fundraising events to help raise funds for the center. We are also excepting donations for yard sales and ebay sales to help raise funds for much needed supplies. Families, church groups, schools, civic organizations and corporate sponsors are always welcome.
Volunteers are always needed to feed and play with the animals, special projects, clean runs and cages or perform clerical work.
Mission
This rescue is devoted to providing shelter and care for dogs and cats, while finding good homes for them. We also provide a low cost spay/neuter program for low income families in our area.
