The Performing Arts Center of Wisconsin Rapids is an 833 seat proscenium theatre located on the campus of Lincoln High School at 1801 16th Street South. The building is situated at the intersection of 16th Street South and Highway 54.The PAC opened in September of 2000 and was built as the result of a successful 1998 school district referendum and generous additional gifts from the community totaling over one million dollars. The facility possesses many unique and elegant features, such as cherry paneling throughout, a nine foot Steinway Model D concert grand piano, a Wenger 'Diva' acoustic shell, and a full-fly gallery.
The PAC has become the hub of performing arts events in the Central Wisconsin area. Numerous professional performing groups have appeared on its stage, among them the Vienna Boys Choir, the Blind Boys of Alabama, the Bellamy Brothers, the Minnesota Ballet, and the Dallas Brass. The PAC has received rave reviews from performers and audience members alike for its outstanding acoustics. In the short time the center has been open over 363,000 audience members have enjoyed a wide range of performing arts events in this elegant and comfortable space. The center has also hosted numerous corporate meetings and conferences.
