Mission:
Peacefield Equine Sanctuary exists to care for horses that need both medical attention and/or behavioral training, with the goal of making them good equine citizens. Their care will be tracked throughout their entire lives in order to ensure their permanent safety. The Sanctuary also exists to educate the public about equine care and rehabilitation, and about the politics of the abolishment of horse slaughter.
About Us:
Peacefield Equine Sanctuary is the brainchild of Elizabeth Lorenzen, the sanctuary’s Executive Director and Founder, and is a response to a need for a unified animal welfare effort for equines in the Wabash Valley area of west central Indiana. Through the efforts of the sanctuary, not only will horses be helped, but potential adopters will be educated in the skills necessary for appropriate care of the animals. Outreach efforts geared at developing awareness of equine abuse and neglect will also be initiated.
