Mission - To improve our community by promoting and growing profitable business.
2006 is poised to be a year of new dimensions. The outstanding successes that we enjoyed in 2005 have positioned us to take on new responsibilities, new priorities, new programs and new directions. Our success has established a new standard by which we must now judge our efforts and utilize our emerging capabilities to their greatest extent. Achieving a benchmark year does not allow us the luxury of settling into satisfaction with our accomplishments. To neglect our potential is to encourage mediocrity. We must now maintain a constant vigil over our focus and never lose sight of our goals or our vision, and earnestly embrace the possibilities of our future.
The Northwest Chamber is a member driven organization dedicated to the promotion and growth of profitable businesses. Since 1939 the Chamber has served as the voice of business in Northwestern Oklahoma County, and has worked to improve the business climate of our communities. Through various aspects of its organizational design The Northwest Chamber provides many direct and indirect benefits to its membership and the communities it services.
As the voice of business the Chamber's Government Affairs Committee provides an advocate for area business at the local, state and national levels. The Chamber acts as a watchdog on legislation and issues that could affect businesses, and encourages elected officials to support those issues that provide a positive impact and oppose those that are detrimental to growth and profitability.
The Chamber is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of local business owners, managers and professionals that are in tune with the concerns and needs of area business. Our directors provide guidance in the establishment of our Program of Work, outlining the goals and objectives that the Chamber works to accomplish throughout the year.
During the year Chamber members are offered many opportunities to increase their company's visibility and sales potential. Membership luncheons, Business After Hours, Community Coffees and ribbon cuttings provide relaxed occasions and atmospheres to make new business contacts. Additional visibility is gained through the Chamber's Consumer Guide and Directory, The Northwest Chamber website and our monthly newsletter. The Chamber also provides a Business Expo that allows businesses to showcase their products or services to hundreds of people in one day.
We are grateful for the support that our members have given us over the years. It is only through their dedication and commitment to the Chamber's purpose and mission that we have sustained our vision for the future, and are bolstered to confront the challenges and embrace the possibilities of a dynamic future.
