About North Kingstown School Department
North Kingstown School Department is made up of eight schools which include five elementary schools from Pre-K through grade 5, two middle schools including grades 6 through 8 and one high school for grades 9 through 12.
North Kingstown has been recognized by the Rhode Island Department of Education for its excellence in student achievement and for significant gains on the New England Common Assessment Program made in the past five years. North Kingstown High School has been recognized by US News and World report as one of “America’s Best High Schools,” and many of our schools have been ranked as Commended and Leading by the RI Department of Education. In 2014 Stony Lane Elementary received the prestigious Blue Ribbon Award from the U.S. Department of Education.
North Kingstown High School offers a rich and diverse curriculum with a wide array of Advanced Placement course opportunities along with award-winning music, art, and athletic programs. The NKHS curriculum now includes an Engineering and Robotics pathway which works in collaboration with URI, CCRI and local businesses to provide our students with the high tech, state of the art employment skills sought by the experts in their field.
