Mission:
The Newton-Conover Auditorium contributes to the economic, cultural, and social well-being of Catawba County by providing a place for the community to take part in arts education and performance.
About Us:
The Newton-Conover Auditorium is a 504 seat facility with Art Deco and Neo-Classical architectural elements. It was saved from demolition in 1991 by the combined efforts of the City of Newton, Catawba County, the Newton-Conover City School system and the combined efforts of thousands of school alumni and the citizens of Catawba County. A second major renovation occurred in July 2010 with new carpet, new paint, and modern technology added. The original cast iron seats were saved and recovered with new padding and upholstery.
Currently, the Newton-Conover Auditorium serves as the home to The NewArt School and is available to the public for rentals. It also produces the popular Bach’s Lunch ‘n’ Listen series, Cinema Socials and other fun events and programming.
